What should I pack?

Pack like you would for any resort. Cruise vacations are casual by day, whether you're on the ship or ashore. In the evening, attire is dictated by occasion. For the Captain's Gala, for example, you'll probably want to wear something more formal, such as a dark suit (for men), or cocktail dress (for the ladies); perhaps even a dinner jacket or gown. On other evenings informal or casual dress is appropriate. Your ship’s daily schedule will provide guidance for the appropriate attire.

Will I need a tuxedo?

Formal dinners or parties are part of the fun. But don't buy a tuxedo just for the trip. Even on the most formal of ships, a dark suit and tie are fine for the dressiest occasions. On many cruise ships, you can now rent a tux right on board.

Baggage Tags/Packing Suggestions

Each cruise line issues baggage tags with your documentation packet. Fill the tags out completely and attach one to each piece of your luggage before you leave home. These tags enable the cruise line to immediately identify you at airports and hotels and reunite you quickly with your luggage once you board the ship. REMEMBER it is still your responsibility to identify your luggage at the airport. Make sure a representative from the cruise takes your luggage. Don’t assume all of this will be done automatically. To expedite this last process, we suggest you write your last name and stateroom number in large, bold letters on your bag tag. We also recommend that you use hard-sided luggage and caution against the use of garment bags with hanger hooks protruding from the top.

Is there a charge for entertainment?

Never. The entertainment is on the house. There's no cover. No minimum. No charge for an admission ticket. The shows are live. The movies are first-rate. The variety is limitless.
